Is this a monthly subscription?
No — not for athletes. A sporting career is a long journey, so you pay once for milestones like verification or a career report. Only sponsors and institutions pay recurring, because reach and intelligence are worth it to them.
Do I have to pay to use SportsBuddy?
Never to build. Your profile, competition tracking, public page, portfolio and discovery presence are free forever. Verification and premium reports are optional.
Why is verification a paid, one-time fee?
Because trust has to mean something. Identity verification (KYC) is what lets a sponsor, coach or recruiter believe your record — so it’s a small one-time fee, renewed only every three years. It’s free when an academy or sponsor funds it.
What does a sponsor actually pay for?
Discovery and intelligence: advanced search, shortlists, direct outreach, analytics and campaign tools — plus a success fee only when a sponsorship is facilitated. Athletes never pay for a sponsor to find them.
Can my academy or federation cover verification?
Yes. Institutions can bulk-verify their athletes and run branded rosters — a great way to give every athlete a trusted profile at no cost to them.
